Champions from Scramble

York, NE - The second round of the 2014 Four-Woman Scramble at York Country Club was cancelled due to severe storms. Winning both the Net and Gross Champion was the team of Pam Patterson, Kim Oerter, Michelle Kluver, and Molly Winge. They carded a gross 61 and a net 57.25. Other top contenders was the team of Peg Starman, Doretta Rowse, Linda Fry, and Rhonda Hoffman. Final Results

Marchese Wins Fourth Senior's Title

Kearney, NE - Kearney Country Club played host to the 2014 Senior's Championship. Susan Marchese took her fourth Senior's Title with a three-day total of 231 (77-77-77). Defending Champion, Jane Pohlman of Omaha, followed behind Marchese by 4 strokes with a 235 (78-79-78). In third came Barb Muldoon of Omaha with a 240 (82-78-80). Play-Off Determines Winner of Four-Ball

Axtell, NE - 48 teams made their way to Awarii Dunes Golf Club for the 2014 Four-Ball Tournament. Two teams carded a two-day total of 123, Mandi Sedlak of Kearney and Chris Seberger of Grand Island and Bonnie Jolly of Lincoln and Bryce Schroeder of Kearney. In a one-hole playoff, Sedlak/Seberger claimed the tournament championship with a net birdie. Jolly and Schroeder also tied for the top gross team honors along with the team of Ana Summers of Kearney and Kate Haschke of Kearney, each team scoring a 137. Results

Lemek Continues to Win

Omaha, NE - Danielle Lemek of Doniphan, squared off against Julie Seevers of Omaha in the 2014 Match Play Championship at Oak Hills Country Club. Lemek was 1 up at the turn, but Seevers won 11 and 12, to go up for the first time in the match. It was all square on 13, then Seevers won 14 to only return the match to square on 15 and 16. On 17, Lemek chipped in for birdie to make the match dormie in her favor. Both compeitors had par on 18, and Lemek earned her first Women's Match Play Championship, 1 up. Par earns Lemek First Amateur Title

Lincoln, NE - Fourty-two players enjoyed three beautiful days of the 2014 NWAGA State Amateur Championship at Hidden Valley Golf Club in Lincoln. Danielle Lemek of Doniphan captured her first NWAGA State Amateur Title shooting even for the three days at 216 (76-68-72). Five strokes back from the four-time Nebraska Girls Amateur was Morgan Smejkal of Columbus who carded a 221(76-71-74). Finishing in third place and shooting par in her final two rounds was Isabella Baldacci of Norfolk with a 223 (79-72-72). Scoring

Lemek Defends Title

Ogallala, NE - West Wind Golf Course provided two excellent days of play for the 38 contestants in the 2014 Stroke Play Tournament. Defending Champion, Danielle Lemek finished both rounds under par to keep her title as Champion. The Bradley University Junior carded an impressive two-day total of 14-under at132 (65-67).Trailing Lemek by 11 was Husker player, Sarah Pravecek, with a 143 (74-69).Rounding out the top 3 was fellow Husker, Morgan Smejkal with a 144(74-70). Just a reminder to NWAGA members and non-members; All entrants must be members of the Association as of May 15 for tournaments held in May and June, as of June 15 for tournaments held in July and August, and as of August 1 for tournaments held in September. The membership must be received in the office on or before any date specified in order to play in any of the tournaments you may be interested in.
