NWAGA Involvement NWAGA sponsors the Girls 4-State Team and provides travel expenses, uniforms, and chaperones for the competitors. NWAGA takes a great deal of responsibility for insuring that the best junior programs have the funding and support that they need to flourish and meet the needs of our junior girls, who are the future of the game for women. Our NWAGA Junior Golf Committee is comprised of a group of dedicated women who volunteer to provide the organization and promotional skills necessary to conduct fundraisers, organize volunteer efforts, inspire local champions of the cause, and to step forward to do the ongoing work of running these programs.
Event

A five-member team representing Nebraska annually competes against teams from Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. The format is 36-holes of team stroke-play competition where the best four of five scores count each round. The Nebraska team is selected by NWAGA's Junior Committee based upon the NGA's Girl's Player Rankings.

2017 Four State Team

The Nebraska Women’s Amateur Golf Association is proud to announce the selection of the Nebraska Team for the 2017 Girls’ Four-State Team Championship at Wichita Country Club in Kansas on June 27-29.

The team is headlined by the 2016 Nebraska Girls’ Amateur Champion, Kirsten Baete of Beatrice, and the 2016 Nebraska Girls’ Match Play Champion, Megan Whittaker of Elkhorn. Spencer Roach of Papillion and Morgan Thiele of Kearney, who tied for runner-up honors at the Girls’ Amateur last year, as well as Snyder’s Hannah Hunke, who finished runner-up earlier this month at the 2017 Nebraska Girls’ Match Play Championship, join Baete and Whittaker on the team.

2016 Four State Team

St. Joseph, Missouri - The 2016 Four-State Team Championship was held June 28-29 at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. Steph Kolbas and Kelli Jeffries coached the team to represent Nebraska.The team consisted of the following girls: Megan Whittaker (Elkhorn), Hannah Hunke (Snyder), Morgan Thiele (Kearney), Lacie Fox (Beemer), and Brandi Lemek (Doniphan). Team Nebraska played with vengeance the second day, coming from fourth place to finish tied for second with Kansas with a score of 665 (+89). Hannah Hunke led the team with a two-day total of 157 (+13) to finish second overall. Megan Whittaker had the low score of any player on day two with a 76 (+4), and finished fifth overall with a two-day total of 159 (+15).

2015 Four
State Team

Omaha, Nebraska - The 2015 Junior Four-State Championship was held at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, NE. The team from Missouri was named champions as they triumphed over the weather and teams from Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska, winning the championship by three strokes with a team total of 642. The individual medalist was Taylor Hayes from Lake Ozark, MO with a two-day total of 157 (80-77). Congratulations Missouri! The 2016 competition will be held in Kansas.

2014 Four State Team

Moravia, Iowa - The 2014 Four-State Team Championship was held at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake in Moravia, Iowa. Leading the Nebraska team was Haley Thiele of Wahoo who shot a 140 (69-71). Hannah Thiele of Wahoo finished with a 151 (70-81), Megan Vetrovsky of McCook 157 (83-74), Miranda Keeler of Plattsmouth 159 (81- 78), and Nia Station of Omaha, 159 (81-78). A team total of 602 the team finished in first place! The team was coached by Anne Robertson and Maggie Peters.

2013 Four
State Team

Manhattan, Kansas - The 2013 Four-State Team Championship was held at Manhattan Country Club in Manhattan, Kansas. Leading the Nebraska team was Haley Thiele of Wahoo who shot a 151 (74-77). Megan Vetrovsky of McCook finished with a 166 (82-84), Annie Pearson of Omaha 172 (89-83), Amy Ahlers of Albion 176 (92- 84), and Kaitlyn Krzyanowski of Scottsbluff, 178 (88-90). A team total of 661 the team finished third. Missiouri claimed the championship with a 614

2012 Four
State Team

Sedalia, Missouri - - Nebraska’s Junior Four-State Team finished in second place at this years competition held at Sedalia Country Club in Missouri on Thursday.
In 105 degree heat, the team finished with a team total of 604, followed by Missouri with 618. Kansas’ team was one player short in the competition due to a player withdrawal, finishing with 652. Nebraska was led by Haley Thiele of Wahoo who finished +4 over par for the two day event and in a tie for second place overall. Danielle Lemek of Doniphan had the fourth best score on the second day, shooting four over. Rounding out the Nebraska team was Sarah Pravecek and Annie Pearson of Omaha both shooting a two-day total of 158. Abbie Hunke of Snyder carded a 159 for the event.

2011 Four State Team Beatrice - The 2011 Four-State Team Championship was wrapped up Tuesday, June 28, at Beatrice Country Club. This years team consisted of some super golfers. Danielle Lemek of Doniphan was medalist this year. This is Lemek's third straight year as medalist and set a new record as the first girl to get three medalist honors in the 42 year history. Lemek fired off an outstanding round of one under on the final day of competition making her two-day total 146(75-71). Jackie O'Doherty of Lincoln finished with a two-day total 158(77-81). Stephanie Rodgers of Unadilla shot a great second day score of 76 tallying up her two-day total to 158(82-76). Morgan Smejkal of Columbus finished the event with a 172(85-87). Sarah Provecek of Omaha finished with a 174(85-89).

Congrats Girls! We're all so very proud of you.
2010 Event Results

Ankeny, Iowa -- The 2010 Junior Four State Team finished 3rd at Otter Creek Golf Club in Ankeny, Iowa. The Nebraska team included; Danielle Lemek of Doniphan, McKayla Anderson of Fremont, Morgan Smejkal of Columbus, Christina VonReisen of Omaha and the captain's pick from Omaha was Jordan Rearick. The girls played hard but just could not put the rounds together over the two days. Lemek finished the two-day competition with a 72-69 for a 141 total and was crowned medalist for the competition. Needless to say Nebraska was very proud! Anderson finished the two days shooting a 156. Smejkal fired off rounds of 86-78 for a 164, VonReisen finished with a 163 and Rearick shot a two-day total of 166. It looks like they had a great time! Good job girls. Let's get back the title in 2011.

2009 Event Results

Kansas City, Missouri -- The 2009 Junior Four State Team made Nebraskans proud when they finished first at the Four-State Junior Girl's Competition at Mission Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri. This is the first time since 2003 Nebraska has been able to bring the celebration back to the good life. On Thursday, June 25, the team was tied for first with Missouri. Nebraska had a team total of 335, Iowa 344, Kansas 342, and Missouri 335. The second day of competition Danielle Lemek came back and shot seven strokes better than the first day of competition. Lemek ended up beating a Missouri golfer Kate Gallagher in a one hole play-off. Lemek was crowned medalists for the event carding a two-day total of 159 (83-76). Nebraska took home the glory with a two-day total of 654 (335-319). Missouri followed with a two-day total of 658 (335-323). Third place was Kansas shooting a 676 (342-334) two-day total and finishing in fourth was Iowa. Iowa shot a two-day total of 698 (344-354). Congratulations, girls we are all so proud of you!

2008 Event Results

2008 Results-Nebraska Junior Girls Four State team captured second place out of the four teams competing. Every year teams from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri compete for the coveted title of Four-State Team Champions. Nebraska's two-day total for the tournament was 646 (330-316), just ten strokes behind Missouri.

The Girls Four State Competition was held in Leawood Kansas at the Leawood South Country Club this year. Team members included: Anna Christenson of Lincoln, Armana Christianson of Omaha, Katie Keiser of Gothenburg, Nicole Mooberry of Norfolk, and Sara Thurley of Columbus. Christenson shot a two day total of 157 (81-76) making her the runner-up for the week.
