HistoryThe Match Play Championship dates back to 1916 where Miss Louise Pound was the inaugural champion. Since then we have had several repeat winners, including Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame members Lucille Mann, Jean Hyland and Dororthy Schwartzkopf. Prior to 1973 it was the sole women's championship tournament in Nebraska. Below you will find a complete list of the former Match Play Champions excluding the year 1918 due to World War I and the years 1942-1945 due to World War II.
