OMAHA (April 21, 2022) – NWAGA has announced its 2022 Founders Scholarship Recipients. NWAGA’s scholarship committee selects five Nebraska high school Senior girl’s golfers who plan to continue their education at a college or university in Nebraska. NWAGA is honored to award the following girls with the Founders Scholarship.
Livia Hunke, Snyder — Livia will graduate from Guardian Angels Central Catholic in May. Hunke lettered on the varsity boys golf team every year throughout high school. In the classroom, Livia was named Lincoln Journal Star’s Academic All-State in basketball and softball. In the fall, she will be headed to University of Nebraska-Lincoln with plans to study Business.
Haley Schroedl, Ainsworth — Haley will graduate from Ainsworth High School in May. Schroedl was a member of the varsity golf team her sophomore through senior years. In addition to athletics, she maintained a 4.0 GPA and was ranked number one in her class. In the fall, Haley will be attending University of Nebraska Kearney and plans to study Nursing.
Kaylee Smith, Minden — Kaylee will graduate from Minden High School in May. In addition to golf, Smith earned a gold medal at the National STAR competition her sophomore and junior year. Academically, Kaylee was on Principal’s Honor Roll each year and named Academic All-State her junior year. In the fall, she will be attending Wayne State College to study Education.
Payton Wise, Kimball — Payton will graduate from Kimball High School in May. Wise was a 3-time golf district champion and holds her school record for lowest round (76) on the girls’ golf team. In addition to athletics, Payton serves on the Kimball Prevention Coalition. In the fall, Wise will attend Chadron State College to study Criminal Justice.
Rachael Volin, Lincoln — Rachael will graduate from Lincoln Lutheran High School in May. Volin was named NCPA Academic All-State her junior and senior years. In addition to athletics, Rachael served on the Lincoln Lutheran Community Outreach team from 2018 to 2021. In the fall, she will be attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study Professional Golf Management.
