OMAHA (December 15, 2021) - The Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association is proud to announce the selection of Bellevue's Shelly Liddick as the 2021 NWAGA Golfer of the Year.
Liddick, the head women's golf coach for the Bellevue University, found herself atop the points standings following her wire-to-wire victory at the Women's Seniors Championship in early August.
Liddick fired rounds of 74, 77, and 72 (+7) in route to her second Seniors Championship in as many years. Liddick was also victorious at the Pinehurst tournament at Ashland Golf Club in May where her and partner, Allison Temple, cleared the field by 11 strokes shooting an incredible 126 (-16) over two rounds. Those two wins combined with a second-place finish at the Four-Ball tournament propelled Liddick to her first NWAGA Golfer of the Year honors.
Finally, Liddick capped off her dominant 2021 season by earning a spot in the 59th U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship. During qualifying, she fired a 77 (+6) to finish runner-up at Stone Creek Golf Club in Williamsburg, Iowa. She went on to shoot rounds of 81 (+9) and 84 (+12) at 59th U.S. Senior Women's Amateur at The Lakewood Club in Point Clear, Alabama, missing the cut to match play by just two strokes with a 165 (+21) total.
Liddick will be honored at NWAGA's 2022 Spring Meeting on May 2 at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island.
Congratulations to Shelly on an outstanding year!
