2025 Founders Scholarships

NWAGA will distribute $2,000 scholarships to female Nebraska High School Seniors who have played high school golf and are furthering their education at a 2-year, 4-year, or a technical school in Nebraska. One scholarship will be awarded to an applicant in each NWAGA region (Eastern Nebraska, Central Nebraska and Western Nebraska) with the remaining scholarships awarded regardless of region. Those eligible are Female Nebraska High School Seniors who have played high school golf and are furthering their education at a 2-year, 4-year, or technical school in
Nebraska. Deadline for application is Friday March 7, 2024 at 5 p.m. CST.

2025 Founders Scholarship Recipients

NWAGA is pleased to honor its recipients of the 2024 Founders Scholarships: Teagan Bach, Chadron, Addison Brase, Davenport, Brianne Kuhr, Clarkson, Callie Nelson, Elkhorn, & Kara Suchsland, Minden.  Each will be awarded a scholarship to continue their education in Nebraska.

Taegan Bach, Chadron

Taegan graduates from Chadron High School in May. Bach lettered in golf all four years highlighted by winning the Western Conference Golf Championship in 2024. Bach is a three time qualifier for state golf while also earning letters in basketball and track & field. In the classroom, Bach was a 4.0 student and named to the NSAA's Academic All-State Golf team three times. She is also member of the National Honor Society, Cardinals Committed, & FBLA. In the fall, she will be headed to Chadron State College with plans to study Marketing and play golf as a member of the CSC Women's Golf Team.

Addison Brase, Davenport

Addison graduates from Brunning-Davenport High School in May. Brase started her high school golf career participating on the boys team since BDHS didn't have a girls team. She played a role in adding girls golf her senior year at BDHS. In addition to golf, she participated in FCCLA, FFA, Speech, One-act, Band, & Volleyball. Academically, Brase has a 3.9 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and a NCPA academic all-state winner. In the fall, Addison will be attending The University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she'll work to obtain her degree in interior design.

Brianne Kuhr, Clarkson

Brianne graduates from Leigh High School in May. Kuhr lettered in golf two years in high school. She was also involved in Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, Journalism, FAA, Quiz Bowl, Band, National Honor Society, Play Production & Speech among other activities. Brase particularly exceled on in Play Production winning the 2021 & 2024 NSAA State Play Production Top Actress Awards. In the fall, she will be attending Wayne State College with plans to study Pre-Pharmacy.

Callie Nelson, Elkhorn

Callie graduates from Elkhorn South High School in May. Nelson is a three year letter winner in golf. She won the 2024 Nebraska Junior Golf 2-day event at Indian Trails & Oakland Golf Club. Nelson is a member of National Honors Society, SADD Club, SOCA Club, FCCLA, DECA and Pep Club. In the fall, Callie will attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she will participate in the PGA Golf Management Program & Pre-Health.

Kara Suchsland, Minden

Kara graduates from Minden High School in May. She participated in golf all four years. Suchsland won the Class C NSAA individual state championship in 2024. She also lead Minden High School to three consecutive runner-up finishes. Outside of golf, Suchsland was participates in FBLA, Student Council, MW Club, Art Club, Youth Group and SADD Club. Her 3.8 GPA has earned her honor roll, Gold Laurel and Academic All-State honors.  In the fall, she will be attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln to participate in the PGA Golf Management Program.

Contribute to the Founders' Scholarship

Beginning in 2010, the Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association Board of Directors began the Fund Day event, to raise money for a scholarship. The Founders' Scholarship was created and has helped girls with their tuition, room and board, or books as they pursue a college degree.
